Las Vegas, NV – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is currently investigating a tragic incident that unfolded late Sunday night, resulting in the loss of a motorcyclist’s life near the intersection of Washington Avenue and Pecos Road.
The fatal collision happened just after 9:30 p.m., when a motorcycle collided with an SUV at the intersection mentioned earlier, according to LVMPD. First responders arrived promptly and took the injured motorcyclist to a nearby hospital. Despite their best efforts, the motorcyclist could not survive their injuries.
After the collision involving an SUV, the driver demonstrated a responsible attitude by staying at the scene and cooperating with law enforcement during the preliminary investigation. Currently, the authorities do not suspect that impairment played any role in the incident.
The tragic loss of the motorcyclist brings the tally of traffic-related fatalities in the jurisdiction of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to 124 for the year. Each of these incidents underscores the importance of road safety and responsible driving in the community.
