LAS VEGAS – A juvenile has been arrested after Clark County School District police discovered a gun in the child’s possession at Jerome Mack Middle School.
The CCSD officials confirmed that no threats were made to students or staff at the school. In a letter to parents, the CCSD reminded them that weapons of any kind are not permitted on campus.
This is the second time in a week that a gun has been found on the campus of a Las Vegas valley school. On February 17th, a 9th-grade student at Palo Verde High School was arrested after being found with a gun in their backpack.
The school’s principal confirmed that there was no threat to the school.
The student was taken to the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with possessing a dangerous weapon on school property, carrying a concealed weapon, and being a minor possessing a firearm.
