Heartbroken Father Seeks Answers After Teen Daughter Found Dead in Henderson Desert

Jennaleah “Jenna” Hin

The family of 17-year-old Jennaleah “Jenna” Hin is grieving deeply after her death by suicide was confirmed by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. Jenna, a Foothill High School student with dreams of becoming a nurse, was found in the Henderson desert after a days-long search involving helicopters, K-9 units, and multiple law enforcement agencies.

Her father, Hina Hin, rushed from California to join the search and pay his respects at the site where Jenna’s body was found. Struggling to accept the devastating loss, he described her as a bright, loving, and caring individual with a promising future ahead.

“She was so young, innocent, beautiful, smart,” Hina said, as family and friends continue to mourn Jenna’s passing. Jenna’s aunt, Kass Hin, added, “There is no shame in seeking help. It’s okay to take a break and prioritize mental health.”

Jenna’s death has raised questions about how the teen obtained a gun, with her family calling for answers that might help prevent future tragedies. As they come to terms with the loss, they’ve set up a GoFundMe to assist with funeral expenses.

Mental health resources remain critical, and Jenna’s family hopes their loss inspires others to prioritize self-care and seek support when needed.

For those in need, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available at 988.
