LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – The JW Marriott Resort is collaborating with Vitalant to organize a weekend blood drive to reduce the lowest-ever blood requirement.
The event will take place at the Grand Ballroom of the JW Marriott Las Vegas on Saturday, January 14, and Sunday, January 15, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Vitalant says that donors are needed now to make up for a 50% drop in donations at recent blood drives for businesses. January is also designated as National Blood Donor Month by the blood drive.
We need new donors and donors who haven’t given in a while. According to Vitalant senior vice president Cliff Numark, “patient needs continue, but societal shifts have prevented blood donations from returning to levels prior to the pandemic.”
“Starting the new year with a blood donation can have a huge impact on your community,” says the author.
More on News 3: Donors are encouraged to sign up for this drive and other upcoming drives by scheduling an appointment online, calling 877-25-VITAL, or visiting vitalant.org. Donors can also find out more about the revitalization efforts being carried out in the Water Street District in Henderson.
During the two-day event, walk-ins will also be accepted.
