LAS VEGAS – Police are investigating an incident that occurred at Doris Reed Elementary School in Las Vegas, where a video of a teacher yelling at a student has gone viral on social media. The school’s principal, Jennifer Aznarez, confirmed in a letter to parents that the incident is under investigation, but did not provide any further details.
In the video, a female teacher is seen shouting at a student in a classroom, while walking towards the child. The incident has caused concern among parents and the wider community.
“We are aware of a social media video showing an incident in our classrooms last week. We immediately contacted the parents with students in the classroom to make them aware of the matter,” Principal Aznarez said in the letter.
The school administration has assured parents that all policies and procedures are being followed. Doris Reed Elementary School is located at 2501 Winwood Street in Centennial Hills.
Parents are understandably worried about the incident, and many have taken to social media to express their concerns.
The incident has once again raised questions about the treatment of students in schools, and highlights the importance of ensuring that teachers are properly trained and equipped to deal with difficult situations. As the investigation continues, parents will no doubt be watching closely for any updates from the school administration.
