Las Vegas Groups Join Forces to Collect Groceries and Combat Food Poverty

With inflation at an all-time high, a Las Vegas charity event did its part to combat hunger.

Sunday’s event, held on Polaris Avenue near Allegiant Stadium, allowed families to pick up goods.

Anyone, regardless of financial situation, could pull over and grab food.

The offer was organized by three organizations: Black Book Media, Medtyme, and Our Voices. They claim to have distributed $1 million in food to needy families in the previous month.

“We said, you know what, if we can bless somebody with $300 worth of groceries … then that’s $300 they could spend on their rent,” Brian Harris, one of the event’s organizers, explained.

According to Three Square, approximately 15% of Clark County residents are food insecure.
