The owners of Friendly Hobbies, a beloved family-owned business in Las Vegas, are taking a stand against crime after thieves targeted their store on Sunday morning. Bryan and Steve Ward, the brothers behind the store, say they’ve had enough of criminals stealing from their dream business. They’re now offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of two suspects who stole three RC Low Rider cars valued at $500 each.
Bryan Ward expressed the emotional toll of the theft, stating, “When they take that from you, it’s just such a violation. You feel so violated, you know, it hurts.” For the Ward brothers, Friendly Hobbies isn’t just a store—it’s a passion project 11 years in the making, designed to be “the Disneyland of hobby stores,” where customers can touch, feel, and even test products before buying.
The brazen theft occurred while customers were inside the store near Gowan Road and Rancho Drive. Surveillance footage captured two men running off with the merchandise. But for the Wards, it’s about more than just the $1,500 loss—it’s about protecting other small businesses in the community from becoming the next target.
“We want everybody to see these guys and make sure they don’t go into other small businesses,” Ward emphasized. “We’re not just standing up for ourselves, but for every small business owner trying to survive.”
The family is determined to find justice and urges anyone with information to come forward.
