LAS VEGAS – According to investigators, a guy apprehended in Las Vegas on February 1 is suspected of robbing many establishments and individuals with a firearm.
Bryan Hatfield, 34, is charged with burglary while armed, robbery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, grand theft auto, attempted murder, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, according to court documents.
Hatfield first robbed a pub between West Charleston and Desert Foothills Drive at gunpoint on Jan. 13 at roughly 3 a.m., according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
According to police, the accused victim reported that a man, later identified as Hatfield, entered the establishment, sat at the bar, shouted something incomprehensible, and demanded the contents of the gaming drawer after drawing out a pistol.
According to an arrest report, Hatfield fled with around $10,000 in cash.
Hatfield returned to the same west Las Vegas establishment about 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 23 and pointed a revolver at a lady exiting the bar before fleeing. The next day, at 4:38 a.m., staff at the pub called the police to report being robbed at gunpoint once more.
Hatfield and another unnamed man allegedly entered the bar with pistols and instructed everyone to stop talking before demanding money from the register. According to the report, they stole around $2,000 in cash.
On Feb. 1, an officer was in a nearby parking lot when he noticed a suspicious-looking man using a dolly to move two cases of beer into the pub.
When the officer entered the tavern at about 5:30 a.m., he noticed a man, subsequently identified as Hatfield, robbing it at gunpoint. The police stepped out of the pub to take shelter and radioed that a robbery was taking place. Hatfield bolted from the building seconds afterward.
Hatfield allegedly ran after being commanded to halt and drop the pistol, then got into a vehicle and drove away.
A short time later, authorities found Hatfield driving the van, but he managed to flee at South Jones Boulevard and West Harmon Avenue.
Hatfield stepped out of his vehicle after evading police and pointed his rifle at a woman inside her car, demanding her keys.
According to the report, the woman stepped out of her car and fled with the keys. Hatfield pursued her, shot twice before she threw her keys, which he scooped up.
According to authorities, Hatfield couldn’t get the key fob to work and gave up, returning to the stolen van and driving away.
According to the report, Hatfield then approached another car in which a man was sitting and pointed a gun at him, demanding his keys. The man drove away after handing Hatfield the keys to his car.
According to authorities, investigators eventually discovered that the van Hatfield drove during the earlier crime was hired by him. The path Hatfield took throughout the pursuit was tracked by a GPS tracker in the van.
Police discovered a “makeshift delivery letter” written to the proprietor of the looted pub inside the van.
Hatfield’s Instagram account also contained videos of him driving the van, including one in which he reportedly stole a license plate from another car to cover the plate on the van.
Hatfield was apprehended on Feb. 1 after a standoff at his home. Police said Hatfield was live streaming on social media while officers were outside his house, drinking vodka and holding a gun to his head.
According to authorities, he surrendered willingly after many hours.
According to records, Hatfield is a convicted felon who should not own or possess a firearm.
He is being held without bond until his next court appearance, which has yet to be set.
