LAS VEGAS – A half-hour into the new year, the first deadly crash in the Las Vegas valley was reported.
According to a Metropolitan Police Department statement, officers were contacted at 12:36 a.m. when a 29-year-old male riding a 2015 Ducati Monster collided with a curb and a brick wall near Annie Oakley Drive and East Harmon Avenue.
According to authorities, the driver, who was from Las Vegas, died at the scene.
Last year, Metro reported 152 road fatalities in its area, albeit not including medical incidents that precipitate a crash or delayed deaths.
According to data from the state’s Zero Fatalities website, 348 individuals were killed in crashes across the state as of Dec. 5.
