Southern Nevada is under an excessive heat warning until this evening at 8 o’clock. The temperature has dropped by at least two to three degrees from yesterday.
Today’s high is expected to surpass the 105 degree mark at Harry Reid. Still, that is 7 degrees more than average for this time of year.
This afternoon, isolated storms have formed over the mountains, with just a slender probability that one may enter the valley.
Friday will see a further rise in humidity thanks to Kay. On Friday, isolated storms are expected once more, but highs will only reach the mid to upper 90s.
The biggest chance for showers is on Saturday, when most models predict that the region will receive 1/4″ to 1/2″ of rain. The amount of rain predicted for Las Vegas has been reduced by computer models. We’ll watch how everything turns out.
Regarding high and low temperatures, Sunday through the next week appears to be quite typical for this time of year. The period of well will also see a continuation of monsoonal moisture.
MONSOON TRACKER: Through Friday, there will be a variety of storms, mostly over the mountains. Rain possibilities will be more extensive on Saturday, especially in the southern part of Las Vegas.
