Las Vegas Police Expect Funding to Boost Safety Enforcement
LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas has seen a 32% increase in pedestrian fatalities during the past 12 months.
The Metropolitan Police Department anticipates that extra cash will allow them to more effectively enforce traffic laws and crack down on reckless driving.
On Saturday, the new grant year will begin, providing police departments the opportunity to allocate more resources toward enforcing the law.
High-risk intersections have been a priority for police presence due to the potential for fatal accidents.
On October 1st, they will receive new grant cash that will allow them to prioritize pedestrian safety, speed enforcement, and DUI charges.
