NV Energy said the power outage began at 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday and should last until 12 p.m. on Wednesday.
NV Energy’s website says that the planned outage is to help fight wildfires.
Tedd Floredo, the chief meteorologist for 8 New Now, says that a wind advisory is in effect for the Spring Mountain area and West Clark County until 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
NV Energy said they are using a new microgrid system to keep the power on for most of their customers in Kyle Canyon during the PSOM event on Angel Peak.
