State technology officials revealed Wednesday that malicious actors accessed and removed data during last week’s cyberattack, which caused significant disruptions across Nevada’s government services. Timothy Galluzi, Executive Director of the Governor’s Technology Office, confirmed at a press briefing that investigators are still assessing whether the breached information includes any personal identifying data. He emphasized that analyzing the nature of the stolen data is a complex, time-consuming task, and that speculation prior to a full forensic review would be premature. Federal partners, including the FBI, continue assisting with the investigation.
