NEVADA – A Nevada State Police (NSP) metal badge was discovered during a search of the Chevrolet HHR driven by the man arrested in connection with the deaths of two Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) troopers last Friday, according to an arrest report.
The reason for the badge’s presence in the vehicle driven by Jemarcus Williams, the 46-year-old suspect, remains unclear. Additionally, it is undetermined whether the badge was located inside or outside the vehicle.
These details emerged from a Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) arrest report released on Monday.
The two NHP troopers, Sgt. Michael Abbate and Trooper Alberto Felix, were struck and killed early Thursday while assisting another motorist on northbound Interstate 15 near D Street.
This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
