A North Las Vegas man is facing animal cruelty charges after police discovered 12 animals malnourished and confined in a small trailer, according to a police report.
On February 27th, officers responded to a call about a disturbance and a parking violation on East Tropical Parkway and North Pecos Road. Upon arrival, a strong odor of feces and urine emanated from a nearby illegally parked trailer, raising immediate concerns for the animals within.
The trailer’s owner, Cedric Milnder, was informed by police that the trailer would be towed. During the towing process, officers entered the trailer and discovered numerous dogs locked in crates, with one additional dog found in a separate room or closet.
In total, twelve animals were found inside the trailer: eleven dogs of various breeds, including Pit Bulls, Bulldogs, Chihuahuas, a Siberian Husky, and Cane Corsos, along with a single lizard. The dogs ranged in age from three months to seven years old.
The Animal Foundation took custody of the impounded animals.
Milnder now faces one felony count of animal cruelty and 34 misdemeanor charges related to violating animal protection laws. His court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday at 8:30 am.
