LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – In order to raise money and awareness for teen suicide prevention, the Las Vegas Raiders will once more host their yearly 5K at Allegiant Stadium.
The Raiders 5K will be place at the stadium on Saturday, March 4, both online and in person, the team announced Wednesday.
According to the team, next year’s event will generate money for mental health in the fight to eliminate adolescent suicide in Nevada.
“Nevada’s teen suicide rate is among the highest in the nation and is the 8th leading cause of death in our state,” Alan Diskin, executive director of the Raiders Foundation, said in a news release. “The Raider 5K and opportunities like this, where we can gather as a community to raise awareness and make a difference, is what the Raiders Foundation is all about.”
Entry fees will start at $50 for in-person runners and $40 for virtual racers. Season ticket holders will be eligible for a 20% discount.
Runners that participate in person will begin and finish the event at Allegiant Stadium. The course will send runners north along Polaris Avenue before turning east onto Hacienda Avenue and returning to the stadium via Las Vegas Boulevard.
Age groups will compete, and the race will begin in waves.
