LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – More than 400,000 people are anticipated to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Sin City, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
On Tuesday, police conducted a press conference to deliver information about road closures and forbidden goods.
In terms of traffic closures, the Interstate 15 off-ramps at Flamingo Road will be closed in both directions beginning at 5 p.m., according to LVMPD. Saturday.
According to LVMPD Undersheriff Andrew Walsh, traffic closures on Las Vegas Boulevard will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will extend all the way to Tropicana Avenue.
According to LVMPD, Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed to all vehicle traffic by 8 p.m.
Spring Mountain and Tropicana will remain available to traffic in all directions, as will the freeway off-ramps for these roads, according to Walsh.
The LVMPD’s social media accounts will be updated with “real-time” information regarding road closures, according to police.
“As usual, we will have a very large law enforcement contingent that will be on Las Vegas Boulevard and in downtown Las Vegas,” Walsh said during the news conference.
Minors under the age of 18 who are not accompanied by a parent will be prohibited from entering the Strip and downtown Las Vegas, according to Las Vegas police.
