President Donald Trump has appointed Sigal Chattah as the interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada. Chattah, a seasoned attorney with over two decades of experience in civil and criminal defense, is set to assume the role on April 1.

Born in Israel in 1975, Chattah immigrated to the United States as a teenager, embodying the American dream through her dedication and hard work. She is fluent in multiple languages, including English, Hebrew, and Spanish, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a focus on International Politics and Middle Eastern Studies.

Chattah’s legal career is marked by her unwavering defense of personal liberties. Notably, she challenged the unconstitutional shutdown of churches in Nevada during the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating her commitment to First Amendment rights. Her dedication to justice and the Constitution has earned her the respect of many within the Republican Party.

Nevada Republican Party Chairman Michael McDonald praised the appointment, stating, “We are thrilled that President Trump and Attorney General Bondi have the warrior they need in Nevada. Sigal will rigorously advocate for the President’s priorities and investigate corruption throughout the Silver State.”

However, her appointment has faced criticism from Nevada’s Democratic senators. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto expressed strong opposition, citing past statements made by Chattah and labeling her an “election denier who has advocated for political violence.” Senator Jacky Rosen echoed these sentiments, pledging to do “everything in my power to block her confirmation.”

Despite the political contention, Chattah remains focused on her mission. She articulated her objectives for the office, emphasizing the administration of justice, prioritization of public safety, and the prevention of public corruption under her watch.

Chattah’s appointment reflects the administration’s dedication to appointing individuals who are not only qualified but also deeply committed to the principles that underpin our nation’s legal system. Her track record suggests that she will serve the people of Nevada with integrity and an unwavering commitment to justice.
