Two People Killed in Suspected DUI Collision Downtown Las Vegas Driver Was Arrested After She Fled the Scene

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – Two people were murdered in a hit-and-run accident in downtown Las Vegas on Wednesday night. A 28-year-old woman was detained and charged with DUI.

Mykael Terrell, a 28-year-old Las Vegas resident, was the driver, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Police in Las Vegas claim that at at 7:40 p.m. At the junction of Fremont and 4th Street on Wednesday, a hit-and-run accident claimed the lives of two pedestrians.

According to witness accounts, accident site evidence, and camera footage of the collision, two persons were crossing the junction from east to west against a “don’t cross” pedestrian signal.

Terrell was operating a burgundy GMC Acadia northbound on 4th Street with a green light. According to police, the Acadia’s front hit the two pedestrians, causing the collision.

According to the press statement, the car left the site of the collision and did not come back.

Arriving medical staff declared the male victim dead on the scene, according to authorities. According to the press announcement, the female pedestrian was taken to UMC Trauma where she passed away from her wounds.

The identities of both fatalities will be made public by the Clark County Coroner’s Office, but according to Las Vegas police, the 44-year-old male was a resident of Monument, Minnesota, while the 51-year-old female lived in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Following exhibiting indications of intoxication, Terrell, the Acadia’s driver, was “immediately discovered by police” and put into prison, according to the press statement. In addition to hit-and-run accusations, she was detained.

The pedestrian deaths, according to the police, are the 150th and 151st fatal traffic accidents under the jurisdiction of the LVMPD in 2022.
