LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – Las Vegas woman suspected of bashing a stranger over the head with a rake was facing a murder charge months after the victim died as a result of her injuries.

According to court documents, Bianca Robinson, 27, was charged with open murder after the death of Marcia Averett, 53, in October.

On September 30, paramedics discovered Averett unconscious at Bruce and Fremont streets, not far from downtown Las Vegas. According to authorities, Averett had a skull fracture and a brain hemorrhage.

The husband of Averett informed authorities that an unknown lady, subsequently identified as Robinson, had whacked his wife in the head with a huge rake. Robinson was riding his bicycle around the area at the time of the incident, according to authorities.

Averett died from her injuries on October 20, according to investigators.

Police said they found Robinson on Oct. 21 in a residence in the 300 block of North 16th Street. A witness informed police that she had just “asked an early termination of her lease and wants to move out quickly.”

Robinson was later detained at her apartment, according to police.

Robinson was first charged with violence causing serious bodily injury. Following Averett’s death, the charge was increased.

Robinson was first incarcerated without bail. Later, a judge imposed bail at $500,000. Robinson was still being held as of Wednesday.
