Sparks, NV – The City of Sparks has successfully concluded the acquisition of property in northwest Sparks earmarked for the construction of a new fire station. This strategically located parcel, spanning 1.85 acres, finds its home in the Pioneer Meadows Business Park. The decision to place the fire station in this vicinity was driven by the city’s commitment to serving the needs of burgeoning housing developments in the area.
Mayor Ed Lawson expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited that we are one step closer to building Fire Station 6. The Spanish Springs area is seeing tremendous growth, and building our newest fire station in this area will ensure faster emergency response times for the safety of our residents.”
The city has set its sights on initiating the construction bid process later this year. Once underway, the construction of Fire Station 6 is projected to take approximately 18 months.
The forthcoming fire station represents a significant addition to the Spanish Springs community, which has experienced rapid expansion in recent years.
