The new ER at Damonte Ranch on Steamboat Parkway is scheduled to open one year after construction begins and will provide South Reno residents with 24-hour emergency care, diagnostic imaging, and lab services.

When finished, the FED will address medical issues such as chest discomfort, broken bones, small injuries, asthma, allergic reactions, the flu, and other diseases.

There are additional nine patient rooms.

“That’s what’s hard about the emergency department, is, anyone that comes in, it’s probably their worst day ever. And it is their emergency, so we are treating people that are sick and ill and in pain, and are generally not happy. So what we try to do is meet all of their needs and concerns and not just their medical complaints,” says Dr. Anderson.

Board-certified physicians and emergency room nurses will staff the new hospital. The facility will also include a lab on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as well as diagnostic imaging such as X-ray, CT, and ultrasound.
