RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – The Nevada Department of Transportation is seeking public assistance in naming their snowplows.
Nevadans are requested to submit name suggestions for three plows representing three regions of the state: southern, northwestern, and northeastern Nevada. NDOT welcomes individuals to propose names with ties to the state.
“I’m excited to announce NDOT’s first ever Name-A-Snowplow Contest and promote the hard work of our snowplow operators to keep our roads clear for residents and travelers during the winter months,” NDOT Director Kristina Swallow said. “We also want to call attention to NDOT’s record staff shortage among operators and encourage those qualified candidates who wish to serve their community to apply today.”
The submission period begins today, December 19, and ends on December 26. Here, any name will suffice.
Each of the plows will have a custom crafted sticker with the winning names on it. Names should be four words or fewer in length and should not contain profanity or improper language.
