NEVADA – The Nevada State Police are investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 580. It happened Tuesday night near the Mount Rose Highway exit. For a few hours, traffic was confined to a single lane, but it has since reopened.
A car was disabled on the right shoulder, according to Highway Patrol authorities. A person in the vehicle was standing outside when he was struck. The driver of that vehicle remained on the scene and is working with authorities.
According to investigators, they do not believe impairment played a role in the crash. The cause is still being investigated.
