RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – A Nevada State Police Trooper responding to an injury incident on westbound Interstate 80 on Sunday morning was rear-ended by one car and then hit by three other vehicles.
It was one of a series of accidents that shut down westbound Interstate 80 east of Lockwood and reduced traffic to one lane. It reopened completely after roughly three hours.
“Luckily, everyone is okay,” Nevada Highway Patrol public relations officer Kim Smith said. “Just a reminder to please slow down in these winter conditions.”
Smith stated that everyone helped with the inquiry. At the time of the mishap, the trooper was slowing down to assist at an injury accident.
In same vicinity, there were additional incidents on eastbound Interstate 80.
