Numerous Employment Are Created Once Transportation Projects Are Approved by Nevada Transportation Board

RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – The Nevada Transportation Board of Directors has authorized a number of Nevada roadway projects that will result in the creation of hundreds of new jobs in the state.

The plan was authorized at the Board of Directors meeting on Monday, where it was stated that the projects will sustain 413 employment for a year.

The future development projects, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), will provide an upgraded transportation infrastructure to keep Nevada safe and connected.

On Interstate 80 from the Nevada/California border to western McCarran Boulevard in Washoe County, some authorized projects include repairing concrete barrier rails, correcting deteriorating roadside drainage, adding landscaping and aesthetics, and making other improvements.

According to NDOT, additional approved agreements will assist in funding construction engineering services for a number of highway upgrades, such as the installation of southbound truck climbing lanes and median widening on Interstate 15 in Clark County between Speedway Boulevard and the U.S. 93 Garnet interchange.

11,097 jobs are anticipated to be supported by state transportation projects in Nevada that have already received financing under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
