NV Energy Announces Increased Costs for Customers

NEVADA – On April 1st, NV Energy implemented new quarterly adjustments that will result in higher bills for its customers in Northern Nevada. The company has warned that customers can expect an average increase of 6.4% on their bills due to rising natural gas prices.

NV Energy has explained that the prices for natural gas in the west have surged over the past year, which has led to increased costs for energy providers. In addition, below-average temperatures have also driven higher energy use, further contributing to the higher bills that customers will see this month.

However, for those who are struggling to pay their bills, NV Energy has announced several programs to help. The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) is available to low-income Nevadans and provides a supplement to help cover the cost of home energy. The SAFE program, associated with NV Energy, is designed to help people who may be having difficulty paying their utility bills due to income limitations or other unusual circumstances.

NV Energy encourages customers who are experiencing financial hardship to take advantage of these resources. By clicking here, customers can learn more about these programs and how to apply for assistance.
