Eureka County, Nevada – Law enforcement agencies are currently searching for an escaped inmate from the Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) facility in Eureka County. The fugitive’s name is Jose Salvador Elias, and he managed to evade authorities and disappear from custody, which has led to a massive search operation. This sudden turn of events is quite alarming.
The search for Elias, initiated by the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) in conjunction with the NDOC, commenced after a distressing call regarding a missing inmate was received around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Elias, who was serving time for a range of charges including theft, burglary, and other felony offenses, had been detained at the Carlin Conservation Camp, a minimum-security detention center located in Carlin, Nevada. His incarceration involved forestry work and was intended to facilitate rehabilitation.
According to the ECSO, Elias is believed to have absconded from a work crew in the vicinity of Pinto Summit, situated just outside of Eureka. He was last seen wearing a distinctive blue button-down shirt with the acronym “CCC” printed on the back, a white T-shirt underneath, and blue jeans.
Members of the public are urged to exercise caution and not attempt to apprehend or assist Jose Salvador Elias in any way.
