The fugitive’s name is Jose Salvador Elias, and he managed to evade authorities and disappear from custody, which has led to a massive search operation. This sudden turn of events is quite alarming.

The search for Elias, initiated by the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) in conjunction with the NDOC, commenced after a distressing call regarding a missing inmate was received around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

His incarceration involved forestry work and was intended to facilitate rehabilitation.

According to the ECSO, Elias is believed to have absconded from a work crew in the vicinity of Pinto Summit, situated just outside of Eureka. He was last seen wearing a distinctive blue button-down shirt with the acronym “CCC” printed on the back, a white T-shirt underneath, and blue jeans.

Members of the public are urged to exercise caution and not attempt to apprehend or assist Jose Salvador Elias in any way.
