RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – On Tuesday morning, more than 7,500 NV Energy customers are still without electricity.
In an interview with News 4-Fox 11 on Monday, the utility provider stated that they anticipated having all of the power restored to northern Nevadans by Tuesday night.
After a severe winter storm hit the area on New Year’s Eve, more than 70,000 people in northern Nevada were without power at one time.
According to an NV Energy official, the bulk of their lines were damaged as a result of the thick, cement-like snowfall in the Sierra. Employees from both southern and eastern Nevada were requested by the corporation to assist with the restoration process.
The 89431 zip code in Washoe County continues to experience the majority of the outages.
