Reno Man Arrested For Multiple Car Burglaries
NEVADA – The Northern Nevada Repeat Offender (ROP) announced Wednesday evening the arrest of a Reno man accused of several vehicle burglaries.
According to the Sparks Police Department, the ROP team learned of repeated vehicle burglaries at a fitness club in Reno’s 8000 block of South Virginia St. Russell Garner, 51, of Reno, was identified as the suspect after an investigation. Garner was arrested and booked at the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office jail without incident.
Garner was arrested on various charges, including:
- Vehicle burglary
- Obtaining money under false pretenses
- Identity theft
- Credit card fraud
In addition to the charges indicated above, Garner was placed on probation by the Nevada Parole and Probation (NV P&P) for probation violations.
Authorities are urging the public not to store valuables in their vehicles and to always lock their doors. While this does not prevent vehicle burglary, it does prevent ID theft and credit card fraud.
At this time, no other information will be released.
