Northern Nevada is getting a new service dog training program with the purpose of empowering veterans to live more independent and satisfying lives.
Liberty Dogs, made possible by the Dave and Cheryl Duffield Foundation, will serve veterans from around the country for a three-week immersion training program, as well as Nevada veterans who will get free weekly instruction.
The 27-acre site at Damonte Ranch will have a training facility, canine kennels, and accommodations for veterans who remain on campus to train with their dogs.
Perry DiLorteo, a Reno developer, and his daughter Teresa were extensively involved with the Liberty Dogs campus’ development.
The huge project is projected to be finished between 2025 and 2026. Click here for more information about Liberty Dogs.
