NEVADA- According to sources this week, Renown Health intends to lay off up to 45 information technology employees. Layoffs are scheduled to commence on Thursday and Friday.
They stated that IT asset management, desktop support, and network support will be outsourced to a third party.
Those individuals will apparently have to reapply for their previous positions at that company.
According to a source, the mantra is “do more with less.”
This Is Reno received no response from Renown personnel.
“Everyone is stressed,” a source said on the condition of anonymity due to Renown’s history of suing former employees and the non-disclosure agreements staff sign.
The layoffs are expected to save $9 million. They come after Renown reported post-pandemic losses of at least $110 million. These losses resulted in a low credit rating.
Renowned leaders have publicly stated that the hospital’s future is bright.
This story has been updated to reflect that the layoffs are planned but not yet implemented.
