Vassiliadis Elementary Paused Classes Amid Coyote Sighting

Vassiliadis Elementary School in Summerlin West was briefly placed on “hold status” Monday morning following reports of a coyote near the campus. Principal Paul Catania informed families around 10:30 a.m. and said school district police and animal control had been contacted. As of now, it’s not confirmed whether the coyote was located. Vassiliadis Elementary is situated near Alta and Desert Foothills drives, just west of the 215 Beltway. Authorities have not provided further updates at this time.
