NEVADA – The city of Sparks announced Tuesday that councilman Kristopher Dahir would be treated for a benign brain tumor.
Dahir will have surgery, but he and his family are optimistic about the outcome.
“I will be taking some time off my City obligations to focus on my rehabilitation. “I am so grateful for this community and appreciate all of the well-wishes, prayers, and encouragement,” he stated.
He will be out of commission for the next six to eight weeks.
“As Councilman Dahir heals, Sparks City Councilmembers and I will handle his City duties, including Sparks City Council sessions and seats on various boards and commissions,” Mayor Lawson said. “On behalf of the whole City of Sparks, we wish Councilman Dahir a swift recovery.”
