The shift into and out of daylight-saving time, according to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, can lead to an increase in sleep disturbance, mental problems, and even suicide.
Seasonal affective disorder symptoms include depression, decreased energy, and difficulty sleeping or oversleeping. According to the Mayo Clinic, having less daylight may cause a chemical alteration in the brain, resulting in these symptoms.
Spending more time in the sun, such as going for a morning stroll, might help you deal. If you don’t have time to go for a stroll, light therapy can help. They simulate natural light, causing a chemical shift in your brain that improves your mood. Exercise is also suggested to help you feel better organically.
It is also recommended that you develop a winter routine so that you have something to look forward to.
