Washoe County Needs a New Voter Registrar to Oversee Elections

NEVADA – A new registrar of voters is needed in Washoe County, Nevada, according to a job advertising. If you want to apply, you have until Wednesday at midnight.

The salary range for this position is between $121,000 and $158,000. The target date is November 28, after this year’s general election.

The Nevada Secretary of State’s office, led by Republican Barbara Cegavske, looked into allegations of significant voter fraud in Washoe County and found none.

Former Registrar Deanna Spikula resigned at the end of July after being subjected to treason accusations, internet attacks on her personal life, and stress at work. The manager of government affairs for the county has been given the role of interim registrar.

The role of the Registrar of Voters is critical and calls for a leader who can think beyond the box.”

A bachelor’s degree in public or business administration and four years of experience working as an administrator in a city or county clerk’s office are the bare minimums required for consideration. The committee will also take into account any relevant experience you may have had with previous elections or governments.
