This morning, The Nevada Globe (TNG) discovered that the City of Reno’s At-Large Councilman and Vice Mayor Devon Reese had blocked us on Twitter.

His official account @votereese, that he has used as a city councilman and as a candidate, indicates that TNG cannot access his public announcements related to his service to the city or his upcoming campaign for Reno’s addition of a sixth ward.

We are unsure when the block occurred, but the last article we wrote in relation to Reese’s campaign and public service highlighted his early and significant campaign contributions amounting to over $85,000.

Prior to that, TNG had also covered his ethics charges which determined that he, as a councilman and an attorney, entered into negotiating and approving collecting bargaining contracts between the city and his firm’s clients– the Reno Protective Police Association and the supervisory group of Reno Professional Administrative Group.

TNG has emailed Devon Reese and his his Community Liaison Tyler Shaw for clarification:

We will update this story with any new developments. Should Vice Mayor Reese or his Community Liaison not respond, TNG is prepared to take additional action(s) related to first amendment protections as outlined and supported by existing case law.
