Over the weekend, a 43 foot tall, 10 feet wide, 6,000 pound satirical marionette depicting a nude Donald Trump was erected on the side of Interstate 15 connecting Nevada and Utah. The artists behind the installation have entitled it “Crooked and Obscene” and was “intentional – serving as a bold statement on transparency, vulnerability, and the public personas of political figures.”
According to press materials provided to The Wrap, the creators also aim to spark conversation about “transparency—or lack thereof—in politics, challenging viewers to think critically about political influence.”
The depiction has sparked some support, as well as backlash from the Nevada Republican Party. In a press release issued this morning, the Nevada GOP condemned the display as “political theater” and strongly condemned the “deplorable statue”:
The display coincided with Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign stop in Las Vegas on her “New Way Forward” tour of battleground states. Current polling suggests that Harris and Trump are in a heated race for Nevada’s six electoral votes, something a republican presidential candidate has not done since 2008. Former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden defeated Trump by 2.4 points in 2016 and 2020, respectively.
At the time of publishing, the Nevada Democratic party has not weighed in on the controversial display.

Who are the "artists" behind the installation and where did they get the funding to erect a 43 foot tall, 10 feet wide, 6,000 pound satirical marionette along side of Interstate 15? Who owns the property that it was erected on?
Imagine a similar marionette of Kamala being erected and the media and political outrage that would ensue?
This stinks?
Agree. Especially if the 'similar marionette' was placed on its knees.
