LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – One of the most well-known figures in the civil rights struggle, Dr. Martin Luther King, will be honored with a parade in downtown Las Vegas.
His birthday was on January 16, and Las Vegas is honoring his life with its yearly parade that begins at ten in the morning. The 41st annual Las Vegas parade will have the theme “Living the Dream — It Starts with Me (Shifting Priorities to Create the Beloved Community” this year.
The parade will start at Fourth Street and Gass Avenue and go along Fourth to Ogden Avenue. It will feature floats, marching performance groups, numerous community organizations, regional politicians, and school groups.
A young child called Justyn Boumah, age 7, is one of the parade’s grand marshals.
Those going should dress appropriately because the weather prediction does indicate a chance of rain.
