One Nation, a public policy organization dedicated to promoting commonsense legislative solutions, has launched a $6 million issue advocacy effort in Nevada highlighting Senator Jacky Rosen’s history of voting for wasteful government spending.
The ad, entitled “Essentials,” centers around Senator Rosen’s support of President Biden’s wasteful government spending that allowed COVID checks for illegal immigrants and drove up the price of groceries, gas and housing.
The ad also urges Senator Rosen to support The Protect Medicaid Act and spotlights her vote to raise taxes on Nevada families making less than $75,000.
This is the first ad in a $6 million statewide issue effort on broadcast and cable television, radio and digital.
“Senator Jacky Rosen drove up the cost of living by voting for trillions in spending that even allowed COVID checks for illegal immigrants,” said One Nation President and CEO Steven Law in a statement. “Then, she voted to raise taxes on Nevada families. Senator Rosen claims to care about rising costs but she’s the reason Nevadans are struggling to afford gas, groceries and housing.”
As reported by The Globe, Nevadans are struggling under the weight of inflation. In March, Nevada’s inflation rate rose to a whopping 21.6 percent. Relative to January 2021 prices, Nevadans are paying an additional $1,168 per month, or $27,782 per year, for basic household expenses.
Although rising wages has become a progressive talking point, the rise in wages is consumed by rising prices for everyday necessities like energy, shelter, and food.
Additionally, wages have actually fallen or remained stagnant since President Biden took office. To compare wages over time and in relation to inflation, Statista reports, “In 2022, the usual median hourly rate of a worker’s wage in the United States was 18.12 U.S. dollars, a decrease from the previous year. Dollar value is based on 2022 U.S. dollars. In 1979, the median hourly earnings in the U.S. was 16.75 dollars.”

this article ,the author and the globe are far right fascist propaganda and spew lies just like their cult leader. what they are leaving out,(besides lying) is the GOP voted AGAINST raising minimum wage, voted AGAINST the corp price gouging bill, and AGAINST legislation that would have helped middle and lower class people. Trump's tax bill RAISED taxes on those same groups.
We didn't create the ad, we simply highlighted the ad as it was one of the first in the senate race. The links provided are well-sourced and based on publicly available information. We understand that facts are secondary to your feelings. We wish you the best of luck as you wait for the government to save you and would strongly recommend counseling for your misplaced anger.
I just saw this ad, which is rife with blatant lies. For example, it claims that Senator Rosen voted to raise taxes on Nevada families making less than $75,000. The ad cites the Inflation Reduction Act, Roll Call Vote #325, 8/7/2022. But that act does not change taxes on families making less than $400,000. In particular, "Nothing in the bill raises taxes on people earning less than $400,000." See https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2022/oct/31/senate-leadership-fund/gop-group-exaggerates-effect-inflation-reduction-a/
In my opinion, this kind of power-based and greed-based advertising is amoral.
