Sam Brown, purple heart recipient, Army veteran and first time candidate for US Senate, has raised $1 million from 12.000 donors from all 50 states with an average donation of under $75, according to his latest financial report. He is a GOP candidate running against Catherine Cortez Masto for the US Senate seat–a seat that could flip the US Senate.
“This finance report makes it clear that all Nevada Republicans have a real choice for taking on the hard left policies of Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto,” the Brown campaign touted in a statement to Fox News. “Nevadans representing every Nevada county have donated to Sam Brown’s campaign in just the first 90 days. This grassroots campaign has received donations from all fifty states, as well as American military personnel serving overseas, and our average donation is less than $75.”
Brown is thought to face long odds in his quest to become the GOP nominee. Adam Laxalt has already won statewide office and polling has shown he has a dominant position for the nomination. A recent poll assessing candidate strength against Cortez Masto didn’t even include Brown or other declared candidates such as businesswoman and beauty pageant winner Sharelle Mendenhall “because Laxalt is an overwhelming favorite in the primary at this point.”
