62-Year-Old Man Killed in Las Vegas Hit-and-Run
By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, April 3, 2025 3:25 pm
A 62-year-old man lost his life due to a hit-and-run incident at the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Laredo Street in Las Vegas. The incident occurred around 5:42 p.m. on Wednesday when the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Express Van blatantly ignored a stop sign, colliding with a 2021 Audi TT and subsequently striking the pedestrian.
The driver of the van chose to flee the scene on foot, abandoning responsibility and leaving a community in mourning. This marks the 48th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year, underscoring a troubling pattern of negligence on our roads.
While the driver of the Audi remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, the van’s driver remains at large. Law enforcement agencies are actively seeking information to bring this individual to justice. Anyone with relevant details is urged to contact the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section at (702) 828-3786 or, to remain anonymous, reach out to Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
It’s imperative that we, as a society, hold individuals accountable for their actions. Personal responsibility is the cornerstone of a functioning community. How many more lives must be lost before we collectively demand adherence to the rule of law and respect for our fellow citizens?
