A Clark County judge has sentenced Jemarcus Williams to a minimum of 16 years and a maximum of 40 years in prison for his role in a crash that killed Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers Sgt. Michael Abbate and Trooper Alberto Felix on November 30th, 2023.

Williams, 46, pleaded guilty in April to two counts of DUI resulting in death.

The crash occurred when troopers Abbate and Felix were assisting a stranded motorist on the shoulder of Interstate 15. A vehicle struck and killed both troopers before fleeing the scene.

Following an investigation, authorities located the car abandoned in a nearby neighborhood. A search of the vehicle uncovered a metal Nevada State Police badge, leading detectives to Williams.

According to police reports, Williams eventually admitted to being the driver during questioning.
