Driver Arrested After Hit-and-Run Near Rancho High School Leaves Juvenile Critically Injured

Las Vegas police say a driver is in custody after a hit-and-run crash Friday morning that left a juvenile with life-threatening injuries.
The collision was reported just after 9 a.m. near 21st Street and Owens Avenue, close to Rancho High School in the east valley. According to investigators, the driver fled the scene after striking the juvenile.
Emergency responders transported the victim to a hospital, where their condition remains critical. Police confirmed that the suspect has since been taken into custody.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the investigation is ongoing and advised motorists to avoid the area due to road closures.
