LAS VEGAS – As per statements from officials at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a male individual lost his life in an early morning collision at the junction of Nellis Boulevard and Las Vegas Boulevard last Saturday.
The incident occurred at around 2:30 am, when a vehicle heading southbound on Nellis Boulevard collided with the man who was crossing the street westbound, outside of any designated crosswalk, as per police reports. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival, according to investigators.
The driver of the vehicle remained unharmed, and authorities ruled out the influence of drugs or alcohol as a cause of the accident. The deceased individual has been identified as a 55-year-old male from North Las Vegas.
Police authorities have stated that this marks the 22nd traffic-related fatality of the year and that an ongoing investigation into the incident is underway.
