By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, May 1, 2025 9:32 am

On April 22, 2025, Henderson Police and Fire personnel responded to a 911 call reporting an unresponsive male at 1250 Wigwam Parkway. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 21-year-old man in a bedroom with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Investigators later determined the victim was unintentionally shot by 24-year-old Timmon Betts, who was handling a firearm in the living room when it discharged. Betts was arrested and charged with Disregard for Safety Resulting in Death or Substantial Bodily Harm and Destroying/Concealing Evidence.

Tragically, the victim passed away from his injuries on April 24. This incident marks the second homicide in Henderson for 2025.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact HPD at 702-267-4911 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 to remain anonymous.
