First Officer Lateral Academy Ceremony in Six Years Held by Las Vegas Police

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – A few officers are being recognized by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for a significant achievement.
On Tuesday, the agency hosted its first lateral academy graduation in six years, honoring 16 new officers.
All 16 officers have a total of 112 years of law enforcement experience, with four possessing bachelor’s degrees, three holding associate’s degrees, and one holding a master’s degree.
The Coast Guard and Marine Corps are represented by three grads who are also fluent in Spanish. Three other graduates are also veterans.
