Governor Kristi Noem’s TSA Message Grounded by Las Vegas Airport Officials

By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, October 14, 2025 2:15 pm

In another display of political double standards, officials at Harry Reid International Airport have refused to play a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) safety video featuring South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. The video—intended to promote safe and efficient travel—was part of a nationwide TSA campaign highlighting state leaders welcoming passengers. Yet, for some reason, the Las Vegas airport decided Noem’s face wasn’t fit for the screens.

Let’s call this what it is: another instance of selective censorship. Governor Noem, one of the nation’s most outspoken defenders of freedom, personal responsibility, and strong borders, has become a frequent target for institutions uncomfortable with conservative voices. According to TSA, the video was standard content for airports participating in the travel safety initiative. But at Harry Reid International, officials opted out, claiming they “don’t air TSA videos featuring political figures.” This would be believable if the rule were applied consistently—but history shows it rarely is.

Governor Noem’s video simply encouraged travelers to follow TSA guidelines and ensure a smooth, secure travel experience—nothing partisan, nothing controversial. Yet somehow, it was deemed too political for display. The irony is rich: a federal agency can run taxpayer-funded safety videos nationwide, but when the featured official happens to have an “R” next to her name, the message gets grounded.

The decision says less about TSA’s initiative and more about how deeply political bias has seeped into even the most routine corners of American life. Airports are supposed to be neutral ground, focused on safety and efficiency—not ideological policing. But when a sitting governor can be erased from a federally approved program over politics, it’s a reminder of how far the left’s intolerance for conservative representation has gone.

Governor Noem has stood for border security, law enforcement, and the values that keep America safe and strong—the same values the TSA is supposed to uphold. Silencing her over a 30-second airport clip doesn’t just insult her; it undermines the principle of fair representation in public service.
