Governor Lombardo Confronts Social Media Critics Head-On
By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, April 10, 2025 9:45 am
In a candid moment that has sparked considerable discussion, Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo expressed strong sentiments toward his online detractors during a private gathering. Addressing criticism directed at him and Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony, Lombardo remarked, “All the individuals on social media, they’re talking bad about all of us, in particular me. And a little bit on Stavros Anthony. Who cares? Stavros said the line is ‘F*** you.’ He didn’t say that — I said that.”
The Governor further commented on recent protests at the state capital, suggesting that these demonstrations were orchestrated and funded by the Democratic Party rather than being genuine grassroots movements. He stated, “And those stupid protests that occur in the state capital and is paid for by the Democratic Party. That momentum and those crowd sizes isn’t because they’re pissed, they want to make a difference. It’s because they’re getting paid. So don’t lose sight of that.”
These remarks have ignited debates about the authenticity of political protests and the influence of party politics on public demonstrations. While some appreciate Lombardo’s straightforwardness, others question the appropriateness of such language from a state leader. The Governor’s office has declined to comment further on the leaked recordings.
